Welcome to the Sumerian Myths Comic. This is my latest attempt to bring Sumerian, Akkadian and a touch of Babylonian and Assyrian theology to the public. This is partly educational and partly entertainment. I try to stay true to the myths, but I do take artistic license to tell a story.
In this first chapter I am taking the section commonly known as the prelude to Gilgamesh and expanding it into an entire adventure. The text by itself is actually rather thin, but there are comments here and there in places like Gilgamesh, the Udug Hul texts, and a few other texts here and there that give little hints as to a greater story.
For the most part I have used paint shop pro for this project, but you will see brush work here and there in the pages to come. It's all in black and white because I wanted to be able to get things out to you as regularly as I could. Also to those ends I have done the first three months of updates before the first page comes out.
Expect to see one page a week on Saturday or Sunday for the first two weeks while we fiddle with the HTML and the layout. After that you should expect two pages of story every weekend there after.
